Better Business Advice said Oct. 19 that it had selected Melio as its 2026 small-business bill pay choice, drawing attention to a service whose costs depend on plans, payment volume and payment methods.
Melio lists regular month-to-month prices of $0 for Go, $25 for Core, $55 for Boost and $80 for Unlimited. Those plans include five, 20, 50 and unlimited standard Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments per month, respectively. A Platinum plan has custom pricing.
The regular allowances do not describe every offer available to customers. Melio also advertises a 90-day introductory offer for paid plans that includes unlimited free ACH payments during the offer period.
Under the regular plan terms, each standard ACH payment above the monthly allowance costs $0.50. Melio lists a 2.9% fee for a standard vendor payment funded by card. Checks, wire transfers, faster delivery and international payments carry separate charges. Businesses making payments bear the applicable subscription and transaction costs.
Better Business Advice cited Melio’s tools for collecting bills, handling approvals, paying vendors and updating accounting records. Melio says vendors can receive payments without opening an account. Go syncs its first 10 payments with QuickBooks Online or Xero; Core adds custom approval workflows and unlimited sync, and Boost adds advanced user roles.
Xero finalized its purchase of Melio in October 2025, saying the deal would bring accounting and payments together for U.S. customers. Xero says standard ACH bill payments made within its software are included for U.S. customers on its Early, Growing and Established business plans, without a separate Melio subscription. Other payment methods may carry fees.
The selection comes from Better Business Advice’s announcement, which discloses that the publisher may earn commissions from linked services. The announcement gives no comparative scores or testing method for its choice.
