Binance’s Ether (ETH) perpetual futures market logged a $7.43 million short liquidation at $2,492 on Friday, Oct. 16, an individual forced close rather than an aggregate measure of wider crypto-market liquidations.

The entry was timestamped at 7:13 a.m. ET (11:13 UTC). The $7.43 million figure is the position’s value, while $2,492 is its listed liquidation price.

A separate Thursday snapshot across Binance, Bybit and OKX showed $12.3 million in liquidations, including $6.93 million from short positions and $5.37 million from longs, according to an earlier EconoTimes report. That one-hour tally covered Oct. 15 and is distinct from the individual Binance entry the next morning. Short liquidations exceeded longs by $1.56 million in that earlier snapshot.
