Longs made up 73% of $304.2 million in forced crypto position closures across Binance, OKX and Bybit during the 24 hours ending at 8:06 p.m. ET Oct. 23.

Binance accounted for $237.6 million of the reported value. OKX contributed $38.4 million, while Bybit's tally was $28.2 million. The period included 86,328 liquidation orders.

Long-side closures were valued at $220.7 million, against $83.6 million for shorts. The two components exceed the overall total by $100,000 because of rounding.

Bitcoin (BTC) closures totaled $60.5 million, while Ether (ETH) closures reached $43.3 million. The largest individual position in the tally was a Binance Ether long valued at $4.8 million, recorded at 6:47 p.m. ET Oct. 23.

A liquidation forcibly closes an open trading position. The figures represent the value of positions closed, not verified realized losses. Long positions generally benefit from rising prices, while short positions benefit from declines. A separate Oct. 21 tally across the same exchanges reported $45.62 million in liquidations, mostly from long positions.
