Binance opened a premarket futures contract tied to Predict.fun (PREDICT) on Oct. 25, allowing leveraged trading while no spot market existed to anchor the contract’s mark price.
Trading began at 4:15 a.m. ET (08:15 UTC). The contract settles in Tether (USDT) and permits leverage of up to 5x. Predict.fun had not completed its public token generation event when the contract opened.
Under Binance’s published terms, trades in the futures contract supply the prices used to calculate its mark. Binance updates that mark every second, normally using trades from the preceding 10 seconds. When that span yields fewer than 21 prices, the calculation uses the 20 most recent instead.
The mark can move no more than 1% in a second during premarket trading and the transition period. Binance sets the premarket funding rate at +0.005% per four-hour interval because a premium index is unavailable. The exchange says it may adjust the contract terms and warns that adverse futures moves can liquidate a trader’s margin.
Predict.fun operates an event prediction market on BNB Chain. PREDICT’s stated total and maximum supply are each 1 billion tokens; neither figure establishes how many are circulating. Binance Wallet previously offered a separate PREDICTUSDT perpetual with a tokenized-stock collateral option, described in earlier EconoTimes coverage of its margin feature.
When a stable index can be drawn from spot trading, Binance plans to move the contract toward standard perpetual trading. It has given no date for that change. After premarket trading ends, Binance permits funding limits of up to 2% in either direction per interval.
