Zcash (ZEC) gained $44 against Tether (USDT) on Binance over four hours Tuesday, while a separate one-hour count showed $850,000 in short liquidations across three exchanges.
Binance’s ZEC/USDT quote rose from $1,251 at 7:42 a.m. ET (11:42 UTC) to $1,295 at 11:42 a.m. ET (15:42 UTC) Tuesday, Oct. 27. The difference amounted to a 3.55% gain over four hours. At the later reading, ZEC was up 3.01% over 24 hours; the percentages measure different periods.
As of 15:50 UTC, ZEC traded at $1,293.80, up 2.86% over 24 hours, according to CoinGecko and spot exchange data.
The one-hour tally recorded $850,000 in forced closures of short positions across Binance, Bybit and OKX, with no liquidations of long positions. Short positions are set up to profit from falling prices, so the forced closures affected traders holding those positions. The liquidation figure covers one hour, while the Binance price comparison uses a four-hour lookback.
An earlier EconoTimes Binance snapshot recorded ZEC at $1,309 after a 3.95% four-hour gain.
