A report published Friday said Binance received 128.6 million Ethena (ENA) tokens, valued at $24.33 million, in a transfer within the two hours before 8:21 p.m. ET Oct. 30 (00:21 UTC Oct. 31).
The report said Binance was purchasing assets through spot markets and over-the-counter (OTC) deals as it worked to restore holdings tied to a security incident and complete its proof of reserves. The incident involved 217.5 million ENA, according to the report.
The report described the deposit as a possible OTC purchase from Ethena that could address part of the shortfall. It did not say a sale had been confirmed.
