Arete Research raised its price target for NVIDIA (NVDA) shares to $369 on Oct. 16, but the figure does not set a price for Binance’s separately traded NVDAUSDT perpetual futures contract.
Arete’s previous target was $283, making the revision an $86 increase. NVIDIA closed the regular U.S. stock session at $214.13 on Oct. 16. The new target stood $154.87 above that close, as EconoTimes’ earlier report on the shares and analyst targets noted.
The $154.87 gap comes from comparing Arete’s share target with a share price. It says nothing about how NVDAUSDT has moved. A later futures quote would also reflect trading at a different time from the Oct. 16 stock close.
Binance identifies NVIDIA common stock as the contract’s underlying equity and Tether USDt (USDT) as its settlement asset. NVDAUSDT trades 24/7, including after the regular U.S. share session ends. Trades during those additional hours take place in the futures market; they do not change the share close used in the target comparison.
