Binance plans to change leverage and maintenance-margin brackets for 15 Tether (USDT)-margined perpetual contracts on Oct. 30, affecting open positions and raising the collateral rate for smaller trades in five markets.

For APRUSDT, AIOUSDT, TRIAUSDT, WETUSDT and STBLUSDT, the available leverage range for positions with a notional value of up to 5,000 USDT will narrow from 21-50x to 21-25x. The maintenance-margin rate for that bracket will increase from 1.5% to 2%, Binance said in an Oct. 20 announcement.

The exchange will remove the previous highest leverage tier for the other 10 contracts and change position-value thresholds in several lower tiers. Those contracts are AIAUSDT, AVAAIUSDT, B2USDT, CYSUSDT, DOSUSDT, GOATUSDT, IDOLUSDT, QUSDT, TRADOORUSDT and TURTLEUSDT.

The brackets determine the leverage available at a given position size and the minimum collateral a trader must maintain. Binance said the revisions will apply to existing positions and that running futures grid strategies may expire.

The update is scheduled to start on Oct. 30 at 2:30 a.m. ET (06:30 UTC). Binance expects to complete the update within approximately one hour.
