Birlasoft Ltd.’s board backed Madhavan Hariharan as its next chief executive and managing director, as outgoing CEO and Managing Director Angan Guha is due to take a senior Wipro post on Dec. 8.

The board approved a two-year term for Hariharan. Birlasoft’s Nov. 6 exchange filing says the appointment requires member approval and any other approvals required by law. Guha’s resignation takes effect at the close of business Dec. 7, for personal reasons, the filing said.

Wipro announced that Guha will become president and CEO of its Americas 2 Strategic Market Unit on Dec. 8. He will work under Wipro CEO and Managing Director Srini Pallia, and Wipro plans to add him to its top executive group. His remit covers banking, financial services and insurance, energy and utilities, and manufacturing.

Hariharan has served as chief financial officer and head of strategy at CKA Birla Group since January 2018, Birlasoft said. His previous leadership roles included positions at Ashok Leyland, PepsiCo, Tata SIA and Royal Philips.

Birlasoft pointed to artificial intelligence, automation and digital technology as forces changing how enterprises operate. Chairman Amita Birla said the company has an opportunity to “strengthen client partnerships and accelerate growth.”

Separately, Birlasoft reported $597.5 million in consolidated revenue for the year ended March 31, 2026, down 6% from $635.4 million in FY25. For the quarter ended Sept. 30, 2026, revenue rose 6.6% year over year in rupee terms to ₹14,162 million. The figures cover different periods and use different currencies.

Hariharan’s two-year term is scheduled to begin Dec. 8, subject to member approval and any other approvals required by law.
