Birlasoft shares rose more than 12% on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Thursday, Oct. 29, after the Indian software company reported higher quarterly earnings; LiveMint reported an intraday high of ₹343.75.

Birlasoft’s unaudited consolidated results for the quarter ended Sept. 30, 2026, showed profit after tax of ₹1,596 million ($16.7 million), up 37.5% from a year earlier. Revenue increased 6.6% to ₹14,162 million ($148.3 million), the company said in its Oct. 28 release.

The board approved an interim dividend of ₹3 per equity share, equal to 150% of the ₹2 face value, according to a BSE filing. Payment is due within 30 days of declaration.

Total contract value (TCV) of deals signed during the quarter was $116 million, including $47 million in new wins and $69 million in renewals. First-half FY27 deal-win TCV totaled $285 million, up 15% year over year.

Birlasoft reported a 15.2% EBITDA margin. Sequential growth in Manufacturing, BFSI (banking, financial services and insurance), and Lifesciences & Services supported revenue, while Energy & Utilities was softer. In its Oct. 28 results release, Birlasoft Chief Executive and Managing Director Angan Guha called the quarter’s revenue performance a “healthy uptick.”

Chief Financial Officer Chandrasekar Thyagarajan said the margin performance came amid a pay adjustment introduced across the organization during the quarter and continued spending to strengthen sales and domain capabilities.

LiveMint and ET Now reported that Nuvama Institutional Equities kept its rating at Hold while raising its target price to ₹300 from ₹280.

LiveMint also reported that SAHI’s Gaurav Arora identified ₹358 as immediate resistance. Shitij Gandhi of SMC Global Securities cited a 200-day moving-average hurdle at ₹337–₹340, with support at ₹310–₹313 and ₹297.

LiveMint separately reported an EBIT margin of 13.4%, down from 14.5% a year earlier. That is distinct from the 15.2% EBITDA margin in Birlasoft’s release.
