BitGo announced regulated digital-asset custody services for individual investors, giving eligible U.S. customers a trust-company option for holding assets outside an exchange or self-custody arrangement.
Eligible customers can receive custody through a U.S. structure comprising two BitGo entities. BitGo Bank & Trust, National Association, is a national trust bank chartered by the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). BitGo New York Trust Company LLC is a limited-purpose trust company.
BitGo also offers custody services to institutions. CEO Mike Belshe has called for stronger defenses and market structures to protect institutional holdings amid exchange breaches, as described in EconoTimes’ earlier coverage of BitGo’s security position.
