The U.S. federal election was scheduled for Nov. 3, one day after Bitcoin (BTC) closed at $76,709, a $1,585 decline from the prior UTC close in a 2.02% close-to-close move.

The Nov. 2 close compared with $78,294 on Nov. 1. The $1,585 difference was about 2.02% of the earlier price.

Earlier EconoTimes coverage recorded Bitcoin's UTC close on Oct. 29 at $77,839. The two closes establish the timing of the move; they offer no evidence on an election effect. The U.S. federal election was scheduled for Nov. 3.
