This year the inaugural Bitcoin African Conference is going to be held at Victoria and Alfred Waterfront in Cape Town, South Africa on April 16 and 17. The two-day conference will bring merchants, investors, venture capitalists, start-ups and bitcoin enthusiasts under one roof who are all putting efforts to move bitcoin forward in the region.
The organizers of the event plan to address many of the issues surrounding the digital currency, along with the potential it offers individuals and businesses alike.
Bitcoin Events Pty Ltd., the organizer of the conference, has already finalized the list of speakers, which includes founder of South African Bitcoin exchange ICE3X, Gareth Grobelar; co-founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of Bitcoin remittance platform BitPesa; Elizabeth Rossiello; Jonathan Smit, founder of the first payments processing service in South Africa to accept Bitcoin, PayFast; and Vinny Lingham as the keynote speaker.
