Two CoinDesk updates showed Bitcoin (BTC) moving from $79,950 at 9:54 a.m. ET to $82,200 at 10:35 a.m. ET Thursday, Oct. 15, crossing from below to above $80,000.

Loss selling coincided with local lows in three earlier periods in August and September. Profit-taking also eased from its September high, but the pattern does not confirm that Bitcoin has reached a local bottom.
