Square offers Bitcoin (BTC) checkout to eligible sellers, but Bitcoin Magazine’s 219-entry Arizona appendix provides no measure of statewide purchases or confirmed count of merchants accepting the asset.
Published with an Oct. 19 article, the appendix credits BTC Map for its entries and divides them into 16 sections. Bitcoin Magazine describes the listings as verified. The entry count, however, does not establish that each listing represents a separate business still operating and taking Bitcoin payments.
A directory can point customers toward possible places to pay without recording whether purchases take place. The appendix gives no total for the number or value of Bitcoin transactions in Arizona.
Square’s terms address individual purchases: each Bitcoin payment is capped at the asset’s current market equivalent of $600. That per-transaction limit provides no basis for calculating how much customers have spent across the state.
Eligible sellers using Square can accept payment from Lightning-enabled wallets while displaying prices in U.S. dollars. They can choose to receive the proceeds in dollars or Bitcoin.
Square’s Bitcoin processing fee remains 0% through Dec. 31, 2026. The rate rises to 1% afterward.
