Coinglass data showed calls taking a larger share of recent Bitcoin (BTC) options trading than of outstanding positions on Nov. 5, as open interest reached $33.41 billion.

The snapshot at 12:20 UTC put open interest 8.39% above the previous day’s $30.83 billion. Trading volume over the 24-hour period totaled $5.71 billion. Calls represented 60.03% of that volume and 58.34% of open interest. Puts accounted for 39.97% of volume and 41.66% of open interest.

Deribit contracts occupied the top three spots by 24-hour volume: a $81,000 call expiring Nov. 13, an $80,000 call expiring Nov. 6 and an $85,000 call expiring Nov. 27. The largest open-interest positions were also on Deribit: calls with $80,000 and $100,000 strikes and a put with a $60,000 strike, all expiring Dec. 25.

Open interest counts contracts that remain outstanding; trading volume measures activity during a period. The figures do not show whether traders used options to add exposure or reduce risk elsewhere. EconoTimes has previously covered Bitcoin options open interest.
