Bitcoin (BTC) was quoted on opposite sides of 78,000 in two early Wednesday snapshots, underscoring the denomination difference: one price was in Tether (USDT) and the other in dollars.
At 12:55 a.m. ET (05:55 UTC), a dollar spot reading showed a 1.67% 24-hour gain for BTC, with the price at $77,915. Five minutes earlier, at 12:50 a.m. ET (05:50 UTC), it was quoted at 78,017.7 USDT, a 1.63% gain over 24 hours.
The readings were separate observations in different denominations. Their positions relative to 78,000 do not establish a five-minute price decline in a single market.
Among the other assets in the later snapshot, Ether (ETH) had the largest 24-hour gain at 2.28%. BNB rose 0.72%, while Solana (SOL) increased 1.44%.
An Oct. 30 market snapshot quoted Bitcoin at 78,038.37 USDT, compared with Wednesday’s 78,017.7 USDT reading. The earlier snapshot’s 0.05% change was measured intraday, while Wednesday’s reported changes covered 24 hours.
