Bitcoin (BTC) rose 0.16% in the hour ending 3:38 a.m. ET (07:38 UTC) Monday, while short positions accounted for $12.82 million of liquidations across Binance, Bybit and OKX.

Bitcoin liquidations totaled $12.84 million during the period, including $20,000 from long positions. Short positions made up nearly the entire amount. Bitcoin's price rose $132, from $82,880 to $83,012. Both the price move and liquidation tally cover the same one-hour span.

The count covers Bitcoin activity on those three exchanges only; liquidations at other venues fall outside its scope. Long positions generally benefit when prices rise, while short positions generally benefit when they fall. The figures show nearly all recorded liquidation activity was on the short side as BTC moved higher.

A separate 24-hour tally across Binance, Bybit and OKX counted $221 million in crypto liquidations, with longs exceeding shorts, in an earlier EconoTimes report. That snapshot covers a different period and is separate from the one-hour Bitcoin figure.
