Bitcoin’s 20-month simple moving average stood at $87,165 on Oct. 16, $325 below its 2026 opening mark of $87,490, leaving the long-term benchmark near the year’s reference level.

A market-cycle framework centers Bollinger Bands on that average. On Oct. 16, the upper band was $121,640 and the lower band was $52,694. The bands are calculated using standard deviation, and the framework does not present them as buy or sell signals.

The price was below the monthly average by December 2025.
