Bitcoin's 200-Week Average Reached $66,000 in Early October, Back Said

Back dated the average’s earlier crossing of $65,000 to Sept. 13. Both figures describe the moving average, not Bitcoin’s spot price.

Blockstream CEO Adam Back placed Bitcoin (BTC)'s 200-week moving average at $66,000 in early October, following a Sept. 13 post that marked its crossing of $65,000.

The dates matter: the $65,000 crossing was a September milestone, not a new October reading. Back’s later post put the measure $1,000 higher.

A 200-week moving average summarizes prices over 200 weeks. Back’s figures refer to that long-term measure, rather than Bitcoin’s price at either point in time.
