Bitcoin (BTC) exchange netflow’s 30-day simple moving average rose to +182 BTC on Oct. 28, putting the gauge above zero for the first time since Sept. 21.

The average had been -3,950 BTC on Oct. 18, 10 days before the latest reading. The shift indicates that net movements into exchange wallets outweighed withdrawals over the measured period.

Because it is a moving average, +182 BTC is not a tally of deposits made on Oct. 28. The measure tracks Bitcoin sent into exchange wallets against coins withdrawn over a rolling 30-day period, but it cannot show whether a deposit was followed by a sale.

IT Tech said holders had stopped withdrawing, while large sellers had yet to appear in size.

An Oct. 20 Coinglass-based exchange-balance snapshot showed a different measure: balances rose by 2,795 BTC in 24 hours but fell by 34,165 BTC over 30 days, EconoTimes reported in its earlier coverage of exchange holdings. The balance snapshot tracks coins held on exchanges, while the latest figure is an average of net movements into and out of exchange wallets.
