Bitget has opened a simulated Contracts for Difference (CFD) account, but two company guides give different starting balances for users practicing with real-time market data.

The support notice, dated Oct. 12, assigns 10,000 USDT to a new demo account and sets the same amount as the default limit for additional virtual funds. A Bitget Academy guide gives a starting balance of 1,000 USDT and a 1,000 USDT default increase limit. Bitget's two published guides do not explain why the amounts differ.

Bitget's launch notice lists Forex, precious metals, commodities and stock indices as markets available for practice. It says the account uses real-time market data and offers ECN or zero-fee modes. Users can access the feature through Bitget's website and app. The company describes the demo as a way to learn CFD mechanics and test strategies.

To use it, customers need a Bitget account, must register for a CFD account and accept the related agreement, according to the Academy guide. Bitget says it does not require an additional know-your-customer or know-your-business (KYC/KYB) check after CFD registration.

The demo operates separately from live trading and lasts 30 days. Bitget says it will close open positions and cancel pending orders when the period ends, then archive the account; users can reactivate it. The company says the demo and live account have the same liquidation risk ratio, although dynamic leverage settings may differ.

Under Bitget's terms, a CFD is based on the difference between a referenced asset's opening and closing prices; users do not acquire the asset. The Academy guide also cautions that results in the practice account do not guarantee equivalent performance in live trading.
