BlackRock CEO Larry Fink said limited access to skilled workers and electricity could slow data-center construction as demand for artificial intelligence computing grows faster than available capacity.

In an interview published Oct. 6, Fink pointed to a gap between the computing capacity being sought and the amount available. Building more facilities could face its own constraints: the workers needed for construction and access to power.

Fink presented labor and electricity as risks to the pace of construction.
