Leading bitcoin wallet provider Blockchain.info announced last week that it has passed more than 100 million transactions.
“We are pleased to report that after years of pioneering the hybrid approach, our software has powered over 100 million transactions and has been used by millions of people across the globe. In fact, our software powers 100,000 transactions a day – more than any other bitcoin product”, it said.
Earlier this year, Blockchain.info released the third version of its wallet which offered a lot of new features including custom funds management, dashboard with balance overview, ‘Did You Know’ tips for new users, new activity log, and improved transaction feed. Last week, it announced that it will be completing the migration to the latest version of its wallet as of August 16th.
“By migrating all of our users to our newest platform, we’re ensuring they have access to the latest product updates, and the safest, simplest, and friendliest bitcoin wallet experience”, Blockchain said.
The latest version also features “dynamic fee structure”, which Blockchain introduced in March. Dynamic fees work to detect changes in network volume and will raise or lower transaction fees accordingly. This means that the same transaction may require a higher fee during a period of network congestion, or a lower fee if sent during a period of decreased activity.
“Our latest code is heavily reviewed, heavily audited by both our internal security engineer and external testers, and is now faster, more adaptable and incredibly robust. The new version is proactive – it senses first time bitcoin users and helps set them up for a great experience with bitcoin. As a product, it has performed more strongly than our last major version”, it added.
In June, World Economic Forum named Blockchain as Technology Pioneer. Blockchain was selected for its success in modernizing the way individuals and organizations manage and move value.
