Bloomberg reported that former Google CEO Eric Schmidt holds around 1% of Anthropic, citing people familiar with the matter, as the AI company considers a public offering. Anthropic has not confirmed the figure.

Bloomberg also reported that Schmidt invested tens of millions of dollars initially. Anthropic listed him as a backer of its $124 million Series A on May 28, 2021, without specifying his contribution or share count.

Anthropic said a May 28, 2026, financing gave it a $965 billion post-money valuation. That figure alone does not show what Schmidt would receive in a sale or public offering.

Anthropic said it confidentially submitted draft IPO paperwork to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on June 1, 2026. An offering awaits SEC review and depends on market conditions and other factors; no date, share count or price has been set.
