Brief vocalizations captured during President Donald Trump’s Oct. 21 South Carolina and Oct. 22 Iowa rallies circulated online, drawing discussion about the moments without establishing what caused them.

At the South Carolina rally at T. Ed Garrison Arena in Pendleton, C-SPAN’s footage captures a brief sound as Trump speaks about former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley and Gov. Henry McMaster. He tells the crowd he put Haley at the United Nations because he wanted McMaster to become governor.

A separate excerpt posted on X by journalist Aaron Rupar shows Trump pausing as he discusses who will control the U.S. Senate at a rally at Sioux Gateway Airport in Sioux City, Iowa. IBTimes UK reported that online health-related interpretations of the Iowa footage had not been medically verified. Neither video establishes what caused the sound.

Jimmy Fallon replayed the South Carolina clip on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Oct. 22. He joked, “That’s like a burp, a hiccup, and a dry-heave all in one.”

The Associated Press reported that the South Carolina appearance was held for Republican Senate candidate Darline Graham and the Iowa rally supported Republican Senate candidate Rep. Ashley Hinson. Both events were part of campaigning ahead of the Nov. 3 midterm elections. EconoTimes previously covered health questions raised after the South Carolina rally.
