Brown & Brown, Inc., an insurance brokerage, reported 7.4% third-quarter revenue growth, while its company-defined Organic Revenue rose 1.2% and diluted net income per share declined.
The company announced its unaudited results Oct. 26. Revenue for the three months ended Sept. 30, 2026, reached $1.725 billion, up $119 million from the year-earlier quarter. Commissions and fees increased to $1.700 billion from $1.550 billion, while investment and other income fell to $25 million from $56 million.
Organic Revenue totaled $1.464 billion, up $17 million. Brown & Brown’s reconciliation included a $156 million adjustment for acquired commissions and fees. Its separate Organic Revenue with Contingents measure, which includes organic contingent commissions, rose 1.5% to $1.543 billion. The company says its organic measures exclude certain effects from acquisitions, divestitures, currency translation and a litigation-related item. It describes these and its adjusted earnings measures as supplements to, rather than replacements for, GAAP results.
Net income attributable to Brown & Brown increased 5.7% to $240 million. Diluted net income per share slipped 1.5% to $0.67, while adjusted diluted net income per share climbed 1.9% to $1.07. Income before income taxes rose 2.9% to $320 million, but its margin narrowed to 18.6% from 19.4%. Adjusted EBITDAC increased 1.7% to $597 million, while its margin declined to 34.6% from 36.6%.
For the first nine months of 2026, revenue grew 23.4% to $5.302 billion, while Organic Revenue growth was 0.3%. Diluted net income per share was unchanged at $2.57; the adjusted figure rose 5.7% to $3.52.
Chief Executive Officer J. Powell Brown praised employees’ efforts to attract customers and described rate conditions as difficult. Brown & Brown said it will discuss the quarterly results on a call Tuesday, Oct. 27, at 8 a.m. ET (12:00 UTC).
