At least 83 people were injured when a passenger bus left a road in Barcelona province on Sunday, Anadolu Ajansı reported Monday, citing local authorities. Seven people were seriously injured, and no fatalities had been reported as of the outlet’s Monday account.
The bus left the roadway and dropped roughly 20 meters, Anadolu Ajansı reported. Catalonia Health Minister Olga Pane gave the injury breakdown: 58 people had minor injuries, 18 had moderate injuries and seven had serious injuries.
Spain’s public broadcaster RTVE reported that the bus left a narrow, winding road and that the cause was under investigation. The vehicle was carrying passengers between Montseny Natural Park and Fogars de Montclus, with stops to pick up riders along the way.
Officials cautioned that the difficult terrain meant additional casualties could not be ruled out, Anadolu Ajansı reported.
