The loonie finds itself in a far shallower hole on the year against its U.S. rival, having started 2015 in the C$1.16s. Canada's buck strengthened to three-month highs and could be a dovish message from the Fed this week from breaching below C$1.20.
A steady loss of buoyancy for the U.S. dollar, coupled with stabilization in oil above $55, has lent solid support to the loonie.
