CF Industries Holdings, Inc. reported $1.78 billion in net earnings attributable to common stockholders for the first nine months of 2026, as higher selling prices lifted revenue despite weaker shipment volume.
Net sales reached $6.07 billion, compared with $5.21 billion in the same period of 2025. A litigation settlement contributed about $170 million to the reported nine-month results, according to the company’s earnings release.
For the third quarter, net earnings attributable to common stockholders were $436 million, up from $353 million a year earlier. Consolidated net earnings, which include amounts not attributable to common stockholders, were $520 million, compared with $460 million. Quarterly sales rose to $1.86 billion from $1.66 billion.
For the first nine months, adjusted EBITDA, a non-GAAP measure, totaled $3.01 billion. It was $833 million in the third quarter, up from $667 million in the year-earlier period.
Selling prices rose year over year, while shipments fell 5%; lower sales of ammonium nitrate, ammonia and urea ammonium nitrate solution (UAN) were partly offset by gains in granular urea and other products.
CF Industries said lost product availability during an extended outage at its Yazoo City Complex in Mississippi contributed to the volume decline. The release linked the outage to an incident in November 2025 and said nine-month volume would have been close to the prior-year level without the lost availability. Cost of sales rose, partly because of higher maintenance expenses that included the outage, as well as higher realized natural gas costs.
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) index lists the company’s Nov. 4 filing under Items 2.02, covering results of operations and financial condition, and 9.01, covering financial statements and exhibits. CF Industries is scheduled to discuss its results, business environment and outlook on a conference call at 11 a.m. ET Thursday, Nov. 5.
