CME Group’s micro cryptocurrency contracts averaged 160,000 per day in the third quarter of 2026, down 46% from a year earlier even as activity across the exchange’s wider micro products range increased.

The crypto contracts averaged 297,000 per day in the year-earlier quarter. Across CME Group’s micro products in all categories, average daily volume reached 4.8 million contracts, up 50% year over year.

CME Group’s full cryptocurrency futures and options lineup averaged 196,000 contracts per day. That figure covers a broader set of products than the micro cryptocurrency contracts, which represented only part of the lineup.
