A 1.3-percentage-point gap separated Sen. Flavio Bolsonaro from President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva in a CNT/MDA poll released Saturday, with Brazil set to vote in the presidential runoff Sunday.

The survey recorded 46.3% for Bolsonaro and 45% for Lula. The difference was within the poll’s 2.2-percentage-point margin of error. MDA surveyed 2,032 people from Oct. 21-23.

A previous CNT/MDA poll recorded 46.8% for Bolsonaro and 45.9% for Lula. Both candidates received 50% among valid votes in Thursday’s Datafolha survey.

Al Jazeera and Reuters reported that Friday’s final debate covered the economy, infrastructure and regional development. Bolsonaro faulted Lula over organized crime, household debt and the cost of living. Lula said Bolsonaro lacked an understanding of hunger and Brazil.

Brazil’s Superior Electoral Court (TSE) reported that Bolsonaro received 47% of the vote and Lula 45% in the Oct. 4 first round. Voters are due to choose between them in the runoff Sunday, Oct. 25.
