“Chicago has many well-recognized and highly respected hospitals. We are proud to be among them. Our center will offer patients advanced cancer treatment options and technologies, while providing the same world-class care and commitment we deliver at our hospital in Zion, Illinois,” said Scott Jones, President and CEO of CTCA® at Midwestern. “We look forward to strengthening relationships with local physicians while serving new patients seeking clinical excellence in this type of comfortable outpatient setting, in downtown Chicago.”
Services at the Outpatient Care Center, site of the former CyberKnife Cancer Institute of Chicago, include a continued offering of CyberKnife® and other radiation oncology therapies, chemotherapy infusion, and gynecologic, surgical and medical oncology consultations. Supportive therapies are also available to help patients combat side effects and enhance quality of life both during and after treatment. Patients treated at the center will be seen by accomplished CTCA physicians with decades of experience treating cancer patients. Additionally, these physicians have the clinical resources and expertise of all CTCA hospitals across the country behind them. They work collaboratively across the enterprise and with the CTCA Cancer Institutes, a network of nationally recognized subject matter experts who lead the development of specialized, disease-specific cancer care, to deliver up-to-date evidence-based care and to rapidly bring scientific and research advancements to patients.
“When you have cancer, you deserve to have the best evidence-based medicine, personalized to you and your needs, in the most compassionate environment,” said Julian Schink, MD, Chief of Gynecology for the national program at CTCA, and Gynecologic Oncologist at the Outpatient Care Center. “When you put those things together, you have the best chance of positive outcomes.”
CTCA believes in a patient-centered approach to care. Physicians, nurses and medical staff develop treatment plans designed specifically to meet the needs of each patient, while addressing the cumulative needs of both patients and caregivers. CTCA plans to add more services at the Outpatient Care Center in the future.
