Carahsoft Hosts Seventh Annual Citizen Engagement Seminar June 6, 2017, in Washington D.C.

WHAT:

This one-day event will discuss how agencies are utilizing technology, communication channels, online portals and social media to bridge the gap between agency missions and today’s expectation of citizen service, information delivery and public involvement.

Various communication channels and improved technology have increased citizens’ expectations for access and information, but citizen engagement is still recognized as primarily one-way. Through open dialog, regular communication and ease of access, the vision of two-way engagement and improved service can be realized and ultimately improve agency performance.

Through keynotes, interactive panel discussions, breakout sessions and networking opportunities, attendees will gain valuable insights and hear how other agencies are leading the way in citizen engagement by:

Government and industry thought leaders and public sector experts will join together to discuss best practices for improving agency-to-citizen engagement and customer service. John Skudlarek, Deputy Information Officer, Federal Communications Commission, will deliver the morning keynote address discussing the government’s digital efforts and how the FCC is leveraging technology to transform the agency.

The event’s panels will focus on key areas in achieving improved citizen engagement, including connecting with citizens across social media, enhancing citizen engagement through technology, and real-world stories from government leaders about delivering citizen-centric services.
