Cardano operators now have a new build to evaluate the planned Dijkstra upgrade, with Node 11.2.0 supporting testnet preparation as the public testnet stays on Conway protocol version 11.
Intersect announced Oct. 23 that public testing for Dijkstra had opened, giving operators an environment to prepare for the protocol change. The testnet is planned to move to protocol version 12 through a hard fork. Operators are directed to upgrade to Node 11.2.0 before the switch, but no date has been announced for the hard fork.
Published Wednesday, Oct. 28, Node 11.2.0 contains Dijkstra hard-fork features but leaves Leios for a later release. Intersect said in an Oct. 17 update that Linear Leios was being tested separately at Musashi. The 11.2.0 build is for testing; mainnet operation is outside its recommended use. The hard fork remains a planned testnet transition; Node 11.2.0 itself does not activate Dijkstra on mainnet.
The release changes how operators provide network settings through a configuration envelope validated against a schema. It also adds gRPC methods carried over HTTP/2: ReadMempool and WatchMempool provide mempool access and tracking, while ReadEraSummary returns era information. Operators using the new envelope need Node 11.2 or newer; earlier versions cannot parse that configuration.
Binance’s snapshot at 6:56 p.m. ET Monday, Nov. 2, priced Cardano (ADA) at $0.1881791, down 2.42% over 24 hours. The 24-hour range was $0.1862347 to $0.19453. Operators’ next step is to upgrade Node 11.2.0 ahead of the testnet hard fork; Node 11.3 is expected to add Leios to the software track.
