Chaincode Labs, founded in 2014 by Hudson River Trading co-founders Alex Morcos and Suhas Daftuar, uses private funding to support Bitcoin network software work and help train prospective contributors.

Morcos and Daftuar founded Hudson River Trading in 2002. Chaincode Labs is based in Midtown Manhattan.

The organization says its engineers work on Bitcoin Core, the network’s reference software. Its engineers and researchers choose the open-source Bitcoin projects they consider most important, according to Chaincode Labs.

Chaincode Labs also runs programs to help people learn how to contribute to Bitcoin development.
