IRVINE, Calif., Sept. 14, 2017 -- Cie Digital Labs (CDL), an accelerator of innovation for large enterprises and a growth accelerator for emerging startups, today announced that Jim Davis will join the firm in the newly created role of Entrepreneur in Residence. In addition to serving leadership marketing and business development roles at eBay and Pepsi, Davis has extensive experience working with incubators and advising category-leading startups. Davis also currently serves as the Managing Partner at Rezven Partners, an early-stage venture capital firm.
“Jim’s 25-year history of classic brand marketing experience and unprecedented revenue growth at the world’s leading brands is already proving invaluable,” said Anderee Berengian, CEO at CDL. “Our clients consistently need authoritative leadership on how to resolve real-world business problems and take solutions to market. Jim approaches their needs with a real strategic rigor that empowers their value proposition to shine.”
As EIR at CDL, Jim will accelerate new business opportunities and provide strategic marketing and operational guidance to the firm’s portfolio companies. He plans to guide go-to-market strategy for a new CDL spinout that will be announced later this year.
During his tenure at eBay, Davis grew revenue from $100 million to $3.5 billion, increased users from 6 million to more than 180 million, and cofounded and launched eBay Motors. At Pepsi, Davis ran the brand marketing group, which grew revenues more than 75%, and led a new business unit that launched a water business. Davis also founded three successful digital startups and sold them to AT&T, AOL, and Hearst Corporation.
“CDL passionately attacks real-world business problems and then disrupts legacy business models with market-tested software solutions that become role models for other industries to follow,” said Jim Davis, EIR at CDL. “I’m impressed with Anderee’s vision, his team of creative, business-minded thinkers, and their enormous success with clients to date. I look forward to contributing to the next wave of digital innovation with them.”
