LOS ANGELES, Dec. 11, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Billboard, a leading music publication, has named Martha Henderson, head of City National's Entertainment Division and Lori Badgett, team leader for City National's Nashville office, to its list of the 50 most powerful women in the music industry.
On Dec. 11, Billboard will honor the executive leaders on the list, as well as performer Lady Gaga as its woman of the year at an event in New York City that will air on the Lifetime Channel next week on Dec. 18.
"It is a wonderful honor to be named to Billboard's annual list of the 50 most accomplished women in the music industry," said Martha Henderson, executive vice president of City National Bank in Los Angeles. "Many of these women I know and admire, and it is just fantastic to be part of such an amazing group of talented executives."
Henderson, who joined the bank in 1983, has managed the bank's Entertainment Division for the past 25 years. She oversees a team of more than 200 entertainment banking professionals in Beverly Hills, New York, Nashville and Atlanta, and more than $4 billion in loans and $8 billion in deposits.
Under her leadership, City National's Entertainment Division has been recognized by the entertainment industry as the leader in providing personal financial services to business managers, talent agencies and entertainment law firms. She is a member of the bank's Executive Committee.
"I am humbled and overwhelmed to be included in the Women in Music list for the first time," said Lori Badgett, co-team leader for the Nashville office at City National Bank. "I have so much respect for these women who are shaping the future of the music industry. So much has changed since I started in this business 20 years ago and I am optimistic that we are all working to grow and protect the creative community."
Badgett has spent nearly 20 years providing financial services to companies and individuals in the music business throughout the country. She helped launch the Nashville office for City National Bank in 2011 and her clients include some of the most well-known names in the music industry including publishing companies, artists, songwriters, producers, managers, law firms, agents and performing rights organizations.
