Clearpool Expands to XRP Ledger, Plans CLEAR Token Migration

Institutional credit marketplace Clearpool is expanding to the XRP Ledger (XRPL) after its community overwhelmingly approved a proposal to migrate its native CPOOL token to a new asset called CLEAR.

The governance proposal received 97.16% support, clearing the way for Clearpool’s XRPL expansion and a 1:1 CPOOL-to-CLEAR token migration targeted for the fourth quarter of 2026. The move also strengthens Clearpool’s relationship with Ripple as the platform targets the growing real-world asset and institutional private credit market.

Rather than focusing on speculative crypto-backed lending, Clearpool plans to use XRPL infrastructure to finance working capital for fintech companies. Clearpool will provide the technology and smart-contract infrastructure, while Cicada Partners will assess borrowers and underwrite credit risk. Ripple will participate in lending pools as a limited partner.

Financing will be conducted exclusively using Ripple USD (RLUSD), potentially increasing institutional utility for Ripple’s dollar-backed stablecoin. Crypto custodian Hex Trust will provide additional custody, security and compliance infrastructure.

As part of the migration, CLEAR will launch with an initial supply of 1.125 billion tokens, compared with CPOOL’s one billion-token supply. Clearpool said 70% of the new supply will be allocated to existing holders at launch to limit dilution concerns.

The protocol is also introducing a deflationary model. Half of all platform fees will be used to purchase CLEAR from the open market and permanently burn the tokens, potentially reducing circulating supply over time.

Clearpool’s XRPL lending infrastructure will use the ledger’s XLS-65 regulated single-asset pool standard and XLS-66 unsecured lending protocol. The amendments remained in Devnet testing in early October and require approval from 80% of validators before mainnet activation.

CPOOL has already reacted strongly ahead of the migration. The token broke above its previous $0.013-$0.020 accumulation range to reach $0.036554. It also moved above the medium-term moving average near $0.028192, while the next major resistance area stands around $0.101003.
