Clorox named Fabian Garcia its next chief executive Oct. 29, with the handover set for Jan. 5, 2027, when Linda Rendle will leave the company’s top job, chair post and board seat.
Garcia will join the board as he takes office. Rendle is expected to help the company in an advisory role until April 2, 2027. In May, she said health reasons led her to plan a departure.
Matthew J. Shattock is due to assume the independent chair role; he currently serves as lead independent director. Clorox’s board chose Garcia on Oct. 28, and the company disclosed the appointment a day later. The selection followed a comprehensive search.
Garcia moved into leadership of Unilever’s Personal Care business group in 2022 after previously serving as president of Unilever North America. He was Revlon’s CEO between 2016 and 2018. Colgate-Palmolive employed Garcia from 2003 to 2016, a period that included his work as chief operating officer for Global Innovation and Growth. His earlier career included senior global posts at Procter & Gamble.
