Coal India Limited’s board will consider second-quarter and first-half results and a possible FY 2026-27 dividend on Thursday, Oct. 29, as first-half offtake rose while production declined.

The agenda includes unaudited standalone and consolidated results for the quarter and six months ended Sept. 30, 2026, along with consideration of a second interim dividend, if any. The notice filed with BSE gives no dividend amount or record date and does not state a meeting or results-release time.

Coal India’s provisional filing showed April-September production of 321.0 million tonnes, down 2.5% from 329.1 million tonnes a year earlier. Offtake rose 7.6% to 384.2 million tonnes from 357.0 million tonnes.

The Ministry of Coal said second-quarter offtake increased 12.05% year over year to 186.04 million tonnes from 166.04 million tonnes. Deliveries to the power sector rose 11% to 148.20 million tonnes from 133.50 million tonnes.

The ministry said the power sector accounted for nearly 79% of first-half offtake, while pithead stocks declined by 63 million tonnes. It also attributed operating disruptions in July and August to heavy rainfall and said conditions improved in September.

Livemint reported Oct. 22 that Motilal Oswal Financial Services Limited forecast second-quarter net sales to rise 19.2% year over year while adjusted profit after tax fell 31.6%. Those were brokerage estimates, not company guidance.

Coal India declared a first interim dividend of ₹5.50 per share for FY 2026-27 in July. A year earlier, the board declared a second interim dividend of ₹10.25 per share on Oct. 29, 2025; that payout does not establish what it will decide this year.

Livemint also reported a trailing 12-month dividend of ₹26.50 per share and a 6.58% yield, alongside a BSE close of ₹402.10 on Oct. 22. Its report did not state the price used to calculate the yield. The board’s Oct. 29 meeting is the next scheduled decision on results and any additional payout.
