Coinbase announced on Oct. 19 that it had added Pearl (PEARL) to its asset-listing roadmap. An Oct. 20 price snapshot put the token above $2; Coinbase gave no trading date.
The Oct. 20 figures showed PEARL at $2.01 and a market capitalization near $702 million, alongside a gain of more than 5% in 24 hours. Its reported gain over the preceding month was 82.2%.
Coinbase’s current roadmap page lists Axis Labs (AXIS) but not Pearl. Coinbase’s roadmap terms say assets may be delayed or removed, so the addition does not guarantee trading. Coinbase says trading would begin only after market-making support and technical infrastructure are ready, and it would announce the start separately if a launch proceeds.
Pearl launched its blockchain in April 2026. Its block-mining process uses graphics processing units (GPUs) to run matrix multiplication, a calculation also used in AI models. A June preprint documented a test in which a pool accepted 44 shares generated from random inputs; the test did not establish that customers paid for those calculations. Block rewards alone therefore do not demonstrate paid AI demand, as earlier EconoTimes reporting on Pearl mining explained.
Coinbase has not announced a trading date. It says it will issue a separate announcement if trading launches.
