The nine-hour pause on Coinbase Derivatives' 24/7 futures and perpetual-futures markets ended Saturday, restoring trading after maintenance blocked new positions and changes to existing orders.

Coinbase's status notice recorded maintenance completion at 3 p.m. ET (19:00 UTC), after work began at 6 a.m. ET (10:00 UTC) on Oct. 24. Customers could still sign in and check balances. Trading was scheduled to enter pre-open at 2:50 p.m. ET before reopening.

Coinbase planned to switch off its gateways during maintenance, preventing order submissions and cancellations. Coinbase said Working Day orders would be canceled; good-til-canceled (GTC) and good-til-date (GTD) orders were expected to stay active. The status page also explained the treatment of pending orders during the break.

Coinbase scheduled the quarterly work alongside the Futures Industry Association (FIA)'s annual disaster-recovery test.
