Columbus McKinnon raised its fiscal 2027 targets after the Kito Crosby acquisition more than doubled second-quarter sales, while the company reported a $25.5 million attributable loss that included integration costs.
Sales for the quarter ended Sept. 30, 2026, reached $539.3 million, a 106.6% increase from a year earlier, according to the company’s Nov. 3 earnings release. Columbus McKinnon credited most of the growth to Kito Crosby. Sales in Legacy CMCO, excluding the acquired operations and a required divestiture, advanced 5.3% on higher pricing and volume, the company said.
Orders climbed 122% to $562.6 million, and the book-to-bill ratio was 1.0x. U.S. sales rose 98% to $292 million, while sales outside the United States increased 117.9% to $247.3 million.
For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027, Columbus McKinnon now expects sales of $2.13 billion to $2.17 billion, adjusted EBITDA of $425 million to $440 million and adjusted EPS of $2.00 to $2.15. Its previous ranges were $2.09 billion to $2.15 billion, $405 million to $420 million and $1.90 to $2.10, respectively. The company said it could not provide comparable GAAP forecasts for adjusted EBITDA or EPS because potential future adjustments are difficult to predict and could be significant.
The company recorded a net loss attributable to it of $25.5 million, or $0.76 per diluted share, compared with net income of $4.6 million, or $0.16 per share, a year earlier. Acquisition and integration expenses totaled $12.5 million. Adjusted net income rose 73.6% to $31.1 million, while adjusted EPS slipped to $0.61 from $0.62. Columbus McKinnon said higher interest expense and a larger share count largely drove the per-share decline. Adjusted EBITDA was $111.2 million, with a 20.6% margin, up 520 basis points from a year earlier.
At quarter-end, the company reported $532 million in total liquidity, including $110.9 million in cash and $421.1 million in revolver availability. Its Credit Agreement Net Leverage Ratio was 4.9x. For the first half of fiscal 2027, free cash flow was $4.6 million. The company identifies the leverage ratio and free cash flow as non-GAAP measures.
Columbus McKinnon completed the Kito Crosby acquisition on Feb. 3, paying $2.7 billion in cash subject to customary adjustments, according to an SEC filing. At closing, the company said it expected $70 million in annual run-rate net cost synergies. It now says it is realizing those savings faster than planned but gave no current total. President and CEO David J. Wilson said, “Our integration of Kito Crosby is progressing well.” The company scheduled its earnings call for Tuesday at 8 a.m. ET.
