BIRMINGHAM, Ala., April 12, 2018 -- Command Alkon, the global leader in integrated software and technology solutions for the heavy building materials industry, is hosting their Spring Leadership Round Table on May 2. The Leadership Round Table is a facilitated, collaborative discussion with executive stakeholders in the Heavy Building Materials ecosystem – Ready Mix Producers, Raw Materials Suppliers, Bulk Haulers, and Heavy Civil Contractors – to outline evolving best practices and share ideas to solve pervasive challenges.
The theme for the session is Digital Transformation. The Construction industry productivity in general is largely left behind, compared to other industries, due to the slow digital transformation movement. Poor planning, lack of automation, insufficient communication, and unsophisticated supply chain practices hinder inter-company collaboration, effective information management, and real-time decision making. These capabilities are necessary for modern construction projects to be successful and are making the industry ripe for digital disruption.
“Past performance is no guarantee of future results,” said Steve Cox, VP, Business Development at Command Alkon. “The rapid pace of change of regulations, customer expectations and demand means technology, existing processes and skills can’t keep up. Businesses need to unlearn how they’ve done things in the past.”
The supply chain ecosystem can be part of a greater community where communication and information exchange lead to scalable collaboration and more efficiencies. As a member of the Heavy Building Materials ecosystem, businesses will begin to understand how they impact each other, from the physical movement of materials and goods to the sharing of timely, accurate and complete data.
May’s meeting in Philadelphia is a continuation of the conversation started at our inaugural event in New Orleans.
Those who were unable to join the conversation in New Orleans can access a run-down of the session.
