WINDSOR, Conn., April 24, 2018 -- Meridian Medical Management today announced that Compass Health Systems, a behavioral and medical services organization, has selected Meridian Robotics for its 162 providers across three states – Florida, South Carolina and Colorado. Initially chosen for its ability to automate the revenue cycle and help the organization reduce costs, Compass Health Systems also plans to use Meridian’s technology to streamline and improve the efficiency and accuracy of patient care.
“Compass Health Systems believes in the integration of a spectrum of interventions and the interdisciplinary collaboration of clinicians,” said Sandy Washburn, senior vice president of operations at Compass Health Systems. “It is a complex system with many moving parts. Meridian has tremendous depth and experience in the market, with a history of innovation. We believe Meridian’s technology, particularly its robotics, will enable us to manage all of the services we offer our patients more efficiently and effectively, and will easily scale with us as we grow.”
One of the first applications of Meridian Robotics will be to improve the ability to compile information about patients and prepare a quick summary before the physician steps into the room with the patient. Currently this information is gathered by staff in a time-consuming, manual process which leads to some physicians carrying paperwork for up to 40 patients. Meridian Medical Management will enable this process to be automated, freeing staff for higher-value work while reducing costs and ensuring physicians have the information they need to treat and build a stronger relationship with their patients.
“Today’s healthcare organizations must find ways to improve the efficiency of their operations to meet their financial challenges, while still maintaining quality care and patient service,” said Rob Gontarek, president and CEO of Meridian Medical Management. “This is what Meridian Medical Management does for organizations throughout the U.S. We look forward to helping them reduce their costs, increase efficiency, and deliver better care to their patient populations.”
For more than 20 years, Meridian Medical Management has supported independent medical groups and leading academic medical centers, helping them realize new revenue sources. It combines technology, analytics, lean processes, and services to improve the billing function for its customers. Meridian Robotics works to increase revenues by improving consistency and speed of collection efforts.
Meridian Robotics connects disparate systems including practice management systems, electronic health records, and health plan operating systems, automating routine but labor-intensive functions while interacting with systems in the same way as humans. Each robot process is 100 percent repeatable, reliable and accurate, freeing resources to focus on alternate activities that can increase revenue.
