Constellation Software Inc. appointed Daan Dijkhuizen chief AI officer Wednesday, assigning him to expand the company's investments in specialist AI software and help its businesses adopt the technology with appropriate safeguards.
Dijkhuizen's main investment assignment is to broaden the role of VMS Ventures, Constellation's venture arm, in backing AI-native software businesses for specialized markets. The appointment also adds him to Constellation's leadership team.
Dijkhuizen also leads Topicus.com Inc.'s Topicus Operating Group as CEO and serves as managing partner of VMS Ventures. He will take on the new Constellation role alongside those responsibilities.
Constellation said Dijkhuizen will help its businesses bring AI into products and internal work while maintaining appropriate quality, safety and compliance controls. He will also help the company's operating groups share practices with one another.
Constellation's acquisition and development business focuses on software companies serving specialized industries. The company trades as CSU on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
