CrowdStrike has made an AI Kill Switch available in Falcon Guardian, giving enterprise security teams a way to cut off an AI agent’s access to its models through a connected gateway.

CrowdStrike introduced the feature at Fal.Con Europe in Barcelona on Nov. 3, making it available that day. The company says Falcon Guardian can use its Falcon AI Gateway or a third-party AI gateway connected to an agent to block the agent’s model access.

The live control acts on an agent’s route to AI models. It does not itself shut down the model provider. CrowdStrike says it is developing wider containment controls for agents across endpoints, cloud environments, identities, software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications and browsers. The company also plans endpoint termination soon but has not given a date.

CrowdStrike says AI agents can chain actions and may have system-level access across endpoints, cloud services and SaaS. That access can allow agents to take actions beyond what users authorized, according to the company. CrowdStrike presents the kill switch as a way for enterprise security teams to retain control over agent activity.

The company said Falcon AI Gateway is generally available and included with Falcon Guardian without a separate charge. The announcement did not state Falcon Guardian’s overall price.

CNBC reported that CNBC Investing Club host Jim Cramer viewed the feature as a potential growth driver for CrowdStrike shares. That is Cramer’s view of the stock, not a company revenue forecast.

CrowdStrike CEO and founder George Kurtz said the feature is intended to help customers keep control as they deploy agents. “When you deploy agents with a kill switch, you stay in control,” he said.
