Through April of 2025, the SEC has on hand 72 applications for crypto ETFs which have the potential to be a game-changer year for crypto ETFs in America. The applications cover a wide universe of digital currencies, from deeply rooted cryptos to newer, more speculative tokens.
Critical dates and timelines are looming for Solana and XRP ETFs, with the SEC deciding on six Solana ETFs on April 29, 2025, and multiple XRP ETF filings between October 18 and October 25, 2025. The prospects of XRP spot ETFs appear rosy, subject to the outcome of the Ripple Labs vs. SEC case, which can decide the regulatory fate of XRP.
The surge in ETF adoption is a sign of growing institutional demand for cryptocurrency. SEC decisions throughout the year will be instrumental in shaping the regulatory environment for U.S. digital asset ETFs, making several crypto assets accessible.
