LAFAYETTE, Colo. , Feb. 27, 2018 -- urban-gro, a leading cultivation technologies company delivering best-in-class systems, solutions, and technologies to large-scale commercial cannabis cultivators across North America, is pleased to announce the hire of William “Toby” R. Leonard III as its Senior Pest Control Advisor (PCA) for the California market. His role will be to oversee and guide customers implementing Integrated Pest Management (IPM) plans that are fully compliant with California’s complex regulations.
Per last week’s report from the California Growers Association, there is clearly a need for this guidance, as less than 1 percent of California cannabis businesses have registered a license due to compliance issues. “Our team predicted that California would crack down on enforcement of cannabis producers and insist they follow the same production rules as traditional agriculture. Unsurprisingly, more than 500 ‘cease and desist’ letters were sent to California cannabis businesses last week with more to come,” said Todd Statzer, director of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) at urban-gro. “At urban-gro, we understand what’s required for compliance. We can help growers navigate the complex municipal rules, help you get an Operator Identification Number, and develop plans that will help keep your grow compliant without breaking the bank.”
“urban-gro has worked diligently to create a PCA reporting structure that will keep the companies we serve compliant with regard to the plan they receive, the chemicals they are sold, and the bios they employ,” stated Leonard. This includes developing fan plans and Element Air designs that will enable a proactive approach to environmental conditions to help stave off molds, mildews, and odors both in and outside of the grow, helping to improve product quality, and reducing the risk of an odor complaint being filed by a neighbor.
IPM is just one area where urban-gro can assist cultivators. Our services and solutions cover the entire lifecycle of cannabis, including lighting, fertigation/irrigation, automation, monitoring, and more.
urban-gro experts will be showcasing its solutions for cultivators at the upcoming Cannabis Cultivators Conference, taking place in Oakland March 12-14, 2018, the Marijuana Business Conference NEXT in New Orleans May 9-11, and NCIA’s Cannabis Business Summit & Expo in San Jose, CA July 25-27, 2018
